Worship In The Secret

Some of Jesus’ greatest worshipers never stood on stage. May our worship of Him so move us to go out and seek Him and where He is, where we want to be found by Him. Today’s church, worshipper leaders and worshippers we always want to have a stage for us to actually offer what we call worship.
When we look at the bible and life of Jesus some of the amazing encounters that stand out where done in private. Our public worship should be a reflection of our private worship.

Woman with the alabaster flask

“And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat. And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment”, Luke 7:36-37 KJV
Mary brought a year wage of perfume not to a ten thousand seater stage but in a house whilst Jesus sat to eat meat. She defied the culture and way of doing things to just be able to worship God in private.

Wiseman from east
“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them”, Luke 2:20 KJV
The time they got an announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ they just took their gifts and they travelled to meet the Messiah. The wiseman met Jesus whilst he was still in swaddling clothes and they worshipped him the promised messiah.

The centurions at the cross
“Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man”, Luke 23:47 KJV
Something happened at the cross for the centurion to see who Jesus was  really. Something happened to him to come to a point where an unbeliever comes to a point of being a worshipper. He didn’t have a stage or an audience but Jesus and Gos where his audience. The audience we should be looking for isn’t man but God, he is the one that receives our praise.

His disciples
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”, Matthew 16:16 KJV
In the quiet place Jesus asks them who they thought He was and Simon says you are Christ, Son of God. Jesus is looking more for people who don’t stand in public to declare their love when they privately don’t even have time for Him.
What God is looking for isn’t stage praise but relationship with men. What God is looking for isn’t worship on a mic He would rather have a relationship with Him. God isn’t looking for stage worship He would rather Worshippers who are like this men who truly know who He is and that He means all to them.
Worship is not the stage it’s the relationship with the maker. Worship isn’t songs and music but actually a lifestyle of glorifying God more than anything
