The Apostle Paul wraps it beautifully in Romans 12: 1 which says:
“Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship.”- NIV

Two things are of paramount importance here;

1) The Motivation to Worship. (Being in full view of God’s mercies)
Apostle Paul in the previous chapters (Ch. 10-11) speaks about how disobedient Israel has been, reiterating the words of Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 65:2, Romans 10:21) and because of that disobedience, the gospel was then preached to Gentiles. The Gentile believers were then “grafted” into the gospel. Hence he (Paul) countlessly makes mention that Gentiles were foreigners to the covenant of the promise (Col 1:21, Ephesians 2:12, Gal 4:8). In Romans 11:30 Paul says, “Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have NOW RECEIVED MERCY as a result of their disobedience…” {emphasis in CAPS mine}. Now in view of such mercies, that the Lord God opened the doors of the message of the gospel to reach the Gentiles as per the GREAT COMMISION, we are able to profess the soul-saving name of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. And it is by this, that we fully understand Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by the GRACE you have been saved…”
And this is motivation enough to WORSHIP God, knowing that we at one point, renounced Him, were disobedient to His statutes, YET overflowing of GRACE & MERCY, He reached out to us, and “Grafted” us into the tree of life.

2) Manner of Worship (Offer bodies as living as sacrifice)

Our bodies in this reference speaks to all our humanness- body, mind, strength, hearts and attitudes that they ought to be in total subjection to God’s WILL. And this is what we see our Lord Jesus Christ also quoting Deuteronomy 6:5 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your strength.” (Luke 10:27, Matt 22:37).

All that is about us needs to be given to God for His Glory. In understanding what the Apostle Paul speaks of in 1 Cor 6:19-20, that are we not of our own but of Christ. A temple of God, set apart, sanctified, for the work of the cross. A temple not made by hands of men (Acts 17:24). Paul speaking to Galatian church says, “…it is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me…” (Gal 2:20); when we allow ourselves to be indwelled by the Holy Spirit, our bodies, or rather WE, as individuals,  are in constant WORSHIP of HIM WHO SPOKE THE UNIVERSE INTO EXISTENCE..

With all that is said, the point is; Worship cannot be induced by an external stimuli, that including music… Music is NOT Worship. Worship is NOT evoked by music, but rather music evokes emotions. Music is NOT the origin of worship, but can be the expression thereof. We shouldn’t look to music to induce our worship; but rather look to music as simply an expression of that which is induced by a heart that is in constant awe of the mercies of God, and is obedient to His statutes.

True and honest worship is God-centered. We tend to get caught up in what music we should sing in worship, and how our worship is received by people, and loosing focus on what is, and matters. Jesus tells us that true worshipers will worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). This means we worship from the heart and the way God has prescribed us to.
